Protecting Africa's remaining Black and White rhino populations by deploying proactive, field-based anti-poaching measures, integrating advanced technologies, engaging local communities, and empowering rangers and K9 Units to ensure these species flourish in their natural habitats. The strategy emphasizes long-term sustainability through strategic partnerships.
A vision of rhinos and local communities living together harmoniously in a thriving, sustainable environment, free from the threat of poaching and extinction.
To safeguard endangered rhino populations from extinction by allocating resources to specialized ranger teams, dismantling unlawful rhino horn trade operations, and ensuring the establishment of secure, sustainable habitats that enable population recovery.
Anti-Poaching Initiatives:
Allocating resources for ranger patrols, developing and training K-9 and Equestrian units, and supplying essential equipment to safeguard rhinos from unlawful hunting driven by demand for their horns.
Habitat Protection:
Restoration of ecosystems, establishment of protected areas to facilitate natural migration, implementation of re-wilding initiatives, and development of breeding programs.
Scientific Exploration:
Employing DNA profiling to identify horn provenance, monitoring health status, and conducting research to enhance understanding of behavioral patterns.
Community Involvement:
Engaging with local communities helps decrease dependence on illegal wildlife trade and promotes peaceful coexistence through educational initiatives.

Support for their equipment is streaming in.

In 2025, South Africa reported 352 rhino deaths due to poaching, representing a 16% decline from the 420 cases recorded in 2024. Despite this reduction, the poaching rate remains unsustainable, averaging approximately one rhino killed per day.
Notably, poaching activity increased in Kruger National Park, rising to 175 cases from 88 in the previous year, whereas HluHluwe-iMfolozi, KwaZulu-Natal experienced a significant decrease of over 50% attributed to enhanced security measures.
In KwaZulu-Natal (Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park) poaching decreased significantly from 198 (2024) to 63 (2025).
Although there has been a general decline, organized criminal syndicates are evolving by redirecting their activities from KwaZulu-Natal to regions such as Kruger National Park.
